SPARKS, Nev., August 05, 2020 – Fatih Ozmen, CEO and owner of Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), the global aerospace and national security company, was reappointed for a second term on the National Space Council Users’ Advisory Group. The Users’ Advisory Group brings together leaders from the space industry and beyond to help shape the future of space policy and continue American leadership in space.
Nominated by Vice President Mike Pence, members of the Users’ Advisory Group are appointed by NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine for two-year terms. The Users’ Advisory Group serves to fulfill President Trump’s directive to “foster close coordination, cooperation, and technology and information exchange” across the nation’s space enterprise to ensure that the United States remains the world’s foremost spacefaring country.

Ozmen joins representatives from leading space organizations including SpaceX, Blue Origin, The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman. The 28-member group includes both industry and non-industry, government and non-government perspectives and consists of former astronauts, academics, politicians, as well as leaders from both public and private companies.
SNC is best known publicly for its Dream Chaser® spacecraft, America’s Spaceplane®, which was selected by NASA to service the International Space Station. SNC technology is supporting NASA’s Artemis program that will again land U.S. astronauts on the moon, including the first female astronaut, by 2024.
